So I ordered a different brand SSD by Team Group and so far it is performing well. I attempted a low level disk format on it and it failed attempting to read blocks right in the beginning. But after having problems booting on the SSD after the clone I plugged up the SSD to 2 other computers and the computers hung during disk management and other 3rd party partitioning softwares hung as well. During the cloning process from HDD to SSD, it took 12 hours which I thought was odd but I figured it was because of the HDD and it being slow read/write speed at 5,400RPM as well as it could just be and old drive acting up. As of right now I found out that the brand new Sandisk SSD Plus is basically DOA. Any suggestions or should I try another cloning software?Īfter waiting several minutes I got a "diagnosing PC" and then I get the "Automatic Repair" "Automatic repair couldn't repair your PC."Īll great information and I will try these steps in the future. So it would feel like the cloning process may have not been successful. So I forced rebooted and I get the same "attempting repair" message and same black screen with a mouse pointer.

I do have a mouse pointer but ctrl+alt+del doesn't work. Powered the PC back up and I get the "Attempting repair" for a couple minutes then I get a black screen. I powered down, unplugged the HDD and only the SSD drive stayed plugged in.

Then I got a 1TB Sandisk SSD Plus and used it's own cloning software, Acronis, and performed a clone. I could see the desktop and the computer was working as it did minus some apps that would need to be reinstalled. I was within the 10 days so I reverted back to Windows 10 and it was successful. It was upgraded to Windows 11 and it had some serious problems like the start menu not appearing and Windows just not responding.
